Families and Parenting

Families come in all shapes and sizes. You can’t choose your family and we somehow have to learn to accept, live and let live with people we may not choose to have in our lives.

You may be having difficulties with a child or step-child, parent or parent-in-law, or a partner’s ex. These feelings of anger, frustration, and sadness you may be feeling are perfectly normal.

Counselling can give you the space to let off steam in a safe place.

Talking to someone who does not know the characters involved and who has no vested interest in the situation can be a huge relief. Counselling offers support for you in your current circumstances and together we can work out ways in which you can see things more objectively and communicate more effectively with the family members concerned.

My blog entry for March 2014 was about Blended Families – you may find something helpful there.
